License Policy
The key words “MUST”, “MUST NOT”, “REQUIRED”, “SHALL”, “SHALL NOT”, “SHOULD”, “SHOULD NOT”, “RECOMMENDED”, “MAY”, and “OPTIONAL” in this document are to be interpreted as described in RFC 2119.
Policy
- New projects developed in collaboration with the Bath Open Source Society (BOSS) (excluding new forks of existing projects not developed in collaboration with BOSS) MUST be licensed under
Apache2.0 WITH LLVM-exception.- These projects MUST include “Bath Open Source Society Contributors” in the name of the copyright owner field of the copyright notice.
- These projects MAY include maintainer and contributor name(s) in the copyright owner field.
- These projects MUST include a
NOTICEtext file as described in the Notice section of this document. - These projects MUST require contributors to provide written confirmation that they have read and accepted the Developers Certificate of Origin (DCO).
- Contributors MUST be made aware of the University of Bath’s Intellectual Property policy at the time of confirmation being provided in Paragraph 1.4, in order for the confirmation to be considered valid for the purposes of Paragraph 1.4.
- Existing projects developed with previous or existing collaboration with BOSS SHOULD be licensed or relicensed under
Apache2.0 WITH LLVM-exception, subject to the unanimous agreement of all current maintainer(s), contributor(s), and copyright holder(s).- If an existing project is relicensed under Clause 2, the rules in Paragraphs 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 apply.

Paragraph 1.3 requires the inclusion of a NOTICE text file with the following content:
